Top Leaf Farms - Deep Medicine Circle
5110 Telegraph Ave.
Oakland, CA
We continued our partnership with Top Leaf farms on an urban renewal project in Oakland, CA. The 38k sf rooftop farm not only supplied produce for area residents, but also partnered with Whole Foods to deliver fresh local produce for in-store purchase. DirtSat measured and monitored plant growth, tracked hyper local weather and related crop impacts, combined with satellite data and on-site IoT soil measurements. Delivering deeper quantitative measurements helped Deep Medicine Circle promote their "food is medicine" ethos.
Bluma Farms
2201 Dwight Way
Berkeley, California
Our first urban rooftop collaboration with Bluma Flower Farm and Top Leaf Farms in Berkeley, CA. We validated our data capture using battle-tested IoT sensors and satellite data to measure and monitor crop health, solar radiation, the water table, and several other data points. We gained valuable insights into the potential of adapting AgTech to urban environments, while providing new data to urban growers.
Tenderloin Neighbourhood Development Corporation
222 Taylor St
San Francisco, California
Partnering with Top Leaf Farms and the TNDC, DirtSat’s second rooftop farm demonstration project performed comprehensive rooftop crop health benchmarking and monitoring via geospatial assets and IoT sensors. Data and analytics provided near-real time feedback on several key metrics including temperature, solar radiation, evapotranspiration, and water balance, allowing the TNDC staff to gain deeper insights into microclimate effects and resource utilization.
Brooklyn Grange Farms
Brooklyn Navy Yard
Brooklyn, New York
Partnering with Brooklyn Grange Farms, the world’s largest rooftop soil farms, DirtSat’s rooftop demonstration projects provided comprehensive rooftop crop health benchmarking and monitoring via geospatial assets and IoT sensors. Monitoring took place at three rooftop locations in Long Island City, Sunset Park, and the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Data and analytics provided comprehensive feedback on several key metrics, allowing the Grange staff to gain deeper insights into microclimate effects and plan efficient resource utilisation across their NYC rooftop farms.
